Thought I would share some LeMons videos from former Buttonwillow events. This is the track we will be racing on:

The leader of last years event rolls his car on the last lap. Holy cow what a goober. Someone should have taught him never to dive in while off the throttle decelerating down hill LOL

Here is some really good footage from Team PorcuBimmer in a 1987 BMW 325e chasing Team Go Go Speed and their yellow Honda Prelude

Both cars look really fast and the BMW seems to have a pretty broad power band. Hey Bill, what will it take for the FX to run with a gutted out 325e?

I looked up some stats and a stock 1986 BMW 325e weighs 2557 lbs, holds 14.5 gal of fuel, and it's 2.7-liter inline 6 develops 126 HP @ 4800 rpm and 170 ft-lbs @ 3200. 0-60 rated for 6.3 seconds and top speed of 122 mph (only?)

I've only found mixed info on the weight of the FX16, from 2100 to 2300 pounds. Did you ever get it weighed?

Thanks
Mike

Haven't weighed it yet. As far as running with a 325e, I ran against a 325i in the 2 and beat it. I also ran down another 325i that followed my wife home one time, that was in the 86 I sold to Kevin. For comparison, other cars that were unable to keep up with the 2 include Sentra SER, Datsun 260Z, V6 Camry, 240SX, Fraud Muscrat (that was a fun one). Afew others that tried, but weren't memorable. Most of the vehicles up here can't even keep up with my Taco, and those are the ones that do make an attempt.

This thread mentions the FX16 weighing 2180 with the A/C removed: http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/202876.aspx (see the 4th reply).

Think we can remove 300 more pounds than that? heh heh

Seats, windows, interior, lighter battery, bumpers, hatch, sound deadening material, lights, unecessary wiring, cut out excessive metal from doors and sides of car, weatherstripping, exhaust, unecessary emissions equipment, seat belts,  I think we should keep the power steering though. Since the event takes place in December, I'd like to keep some form of a heating system. We don't want to freeze and window defrost. I think we should use the MR2 seat. Our drivers vary a bit in size. Other than that, a cheap racing style bucket would be nice.
