Sirdeuce

The flow rate of the USDM large port TViS AFM 4age is 210cc min. Billzilla's info covers the MAP type version. The 182cc injectors are tied into a single group fire, all are fired at the same time. Our engines use a batch fire setup, 2 injectors are fired at a time. The MAP type have a fuel pressure of 2.9 bar as where the AFM version are a little lower, 2.55 bar. That's close to a 14% difference in pressure. The firing of all injectors at one time requires a lower fuel rate, and less attention tio injetor pulse timing. Not sure if they have a constant pulse or a single pulse for the entire cycle though. The batch fire system fires 2 injectors at a time. Our little 4AGE's fire cyls.1 and 2 in one batch and 3 and 4 in the other. This is actually better for both power and emissions as the fuel has less time to condense on itself and the intake walls and valve backs. I think they use the higher pressure on the MAP system to compensate for condensation. Higher pressure = finer mist. Just my thoughts on that.A little info for tuning, if you decrease the fuel pressure from 2.9 to 2.55 on the 182cc injectors you get about 162cc flowrate, increase the 2.55 to 2.9 on the 210cc injectors you get about 235cc flowrate. For this reason the only advantages to using the green coded MAP injectors out oof the 130 horse small port, high comp engine is that you can remove the injector resistor as they are high impoedence injectors, and they are ball type with 2 spray holes that can be directed to the tops of the valves.
