he didn't make his own exhaust.
Dennis is buuilding a custom intake manifold...i started on it tonight. I stopped when I found out that my 13 galon 5 hp compressor doesn't like how much air the die grinder consumes.
The TB is going to be located right on the middle of the plunum on the top, so the air entering the plunum through the TB doesn't have to change direction much at all. Also, I'm using a larger plenum that stock. Runners are about 60% the length of what the stock ones are. Oh, since the TB is in the middle on top, all cylinders will have equal vaccuum, adn it is perfect for a center mounted roof scoop just like the supercars do.
Hooking up the linkage to the TB will probably be the biggest pain, although shouldn't be too hard.
Oh, the TVIS plate will be tossed. Since this is a soloII only car and will hopefully be sporting some 272/264 cams in the near future, I'm not interested in low end torque at all. I jsut wanna maximise power from 4.5K to 7.5K.
Dennis and Mike are very much alike. If I remember correctly, BM snowboards as do I, and is vegan as am I. We both fab alot of our own parts too. I guess if I didn't autoX during the summer, I could have had my car torn apart and worked on it too as did BM.
But i'm lazy and I like simple light weight things, so the engine in my MR2 will remain NA, and I really want to install my garrett T3 turbo and audi intercooler into my AE86. but since the AE86 is my daily driver, it will be hard to find the time. i'll have to wait till next year when the MR2 is streetable again, and then I can drive the MR2 for a few weeks while the AE86 gets boosted.
